There is so much to do in the mountain town of Asheville, North Carolina. But this one goes out to my foodies!

Breakfast

Biscuit Head
Multiple Locations
You know a restaurant is good when there is always a line out the door! I’ve been to a few different Biscuit Head locations and at each one the line was out the door, but everyone in line knows the wait is worth it. Their slogan, “Put Some South in Your Mouth” perfectly describes their style of food. Biscuit sandwiches, biscuits and gravy, biscuit french toast are just the basics of the menu. My favorite is the Mimosa Fried Chicken Biscuit – a biscuit with mimosa fried chicken, sweet potato butter, sriracha slaw, and a poached egg. In addition to the biscuits with things on it, you need to get a plain biscuit as well so you can sample all the flavors from their jam & jelly bar!

Twisted Crepe
62 Haywood St, Asheville, NC 28801
A small, cute creperie in Downtown Asheville with sweet, savory and build-your-own crepes!

Early Girl Eatery
Multiple Locations
Early Girl is a farm-to-table eatery that uses local, organic, seasonal, and fresh produce throughout their menu. They serve breakfast all day and are very friendly to dietary restrictions. Also, they’ve got the most creative mimosas!

Social Lounge
29 Broadway St, Asheville, NC 28801
The sister restaurant to Strada Italiano, Social Lounge has a full Italian brunch menu. I got a pepperoni pizza poutine that was delicious!

Lunch/Dinner

Nine Mile
Multiple Locations
Nine Mile is not your average Caribbean-inspired restaurant and bar. We started with a smoked gouda chipotle queso which blew us away! Everything we ate was so flavorful, even once we were full we didn’t want to stop eating. That’s when we understood why they had over an hour wait at 7:00pm on a Thursday night. They have several gluten free, dairy free, vegetarian, and vegan options as well.

Strada Italiano
27 Broadway St, Asheville, NC 28801
An incredibly gluten-free and vegan friendly Italian restaurant. I’ve been here multiple times and everything I’ve had (including the gluten-free things I shared) were so good!

Battery Park Book Exchange & Champagne Bar
1 Page Ave #101, Asheville, NC 28801
Picture a two story, older book store with couches and tables to sit and read. Now add in a walk-up bar so you can sip some wine or champagne while you browse books. Last but not least, a small restaurant in the front with small plates and charcuterie. It is such a fun experience overall!

La Rumba
105 River Hills Rd suite C, Asheville, NC 28805
We went to La Rumba after spending the day hiking, so needles to say, we were very ready for dinner. Instead of your traditional chips and salsa that gets brought out to start, La Rumba provides elote. I had never been a big elote fan prior to this, but one was so good, I went on a big elote kick following it! They have many unique Latin American foods – we tried fried yucca (potato) and grilled nopales (cactus).

White Duck Taco
Multiple Locations
I’ve probably been to Asheville 5 or 6 time and I have to hit White Duck at least once a visit! It was recommended by my college roommate who is from Asheville. The White Duck I typically go to is a cute corner taco shop with indoor and outdoor seating in the heart of Downtown Asheville. They have an eclectic menu of tacos ranging from traditional American tacos to Asian and Spanish flavors. And I can’t forget their drinks – so refreshing with flavors like watermelon and white peach.

Dessert

Baked Pie Company
4 Long Shoals Rd Suite A, Arden, NC 28704
We went here on my birthday so I felt slightly less guilty for getting a pie flight to myself. Yes, that’s right, three slices of pie and a scoop of ice cream all served on a custom pie board. The shop itself was so cute also – old, mismatched furniture with little table games! We played a ‘get to know you’ card game while enjoying lots and lots of pie.

Old Europe Pastries
18 Broadway St, Asheville, NC 28801
A cute cafe and pastry shop with lots of seasonal and unique flavors!

Crave Dessert Bar
41 N Lexington Ave Suite# 100, Asheville, NC 28801
They have normal dinner food also, but Crave is known for their extensive menu of desserts and dessert drinks. There is extensive indoor seating with an upscale but cozy vibe as well as a patio area with a large fire pit.

French Broad Chocolate Lounge
10 S Pack Square, Asheville, NC 28801
THE chocolate shop in Asheville. From bonbons, ice cream, bars and mousse, to cookies, brownies, tarts and cakes, eating chocolate is not your only option. Hot chocolate, cold sipping chocolate, and my favorite, liquid truffle (that can also be made into an affogato) are also on the menu. The line regularly wraps around the block, so I would recommend going at off times if you can!

Asheville is a foodie’s dream city. I think I could be there for a week, eating out three meals a day and still not hit all of the places I still want to try!
